When the last alert was sent, the system asked if the message was urgent, and I said "yes" because we need to hear from our customer as soon as possible. However, I did not mean to alarm anyone regarding the trash services. FGSUD contracted for trash in an effort of goodwill to help reduce costs to customers and help support the existing expenses of operating the water system. (Another benefit will be fewer trash trucks up and down the roads, causing wear and tear that falls back on us as taxpayers.) We have no intent to increase anyone's trash collection costs. We have so far only seen a handful of our customers with contracted prices lower than what we will offer. For those to whom this applies, please submit a current invoice to verify pricing, and the Board will review it. 90% of you have been excited for this service and will see a significant reduction. Again, I apologize for the previous message coming off as gruff.
Surveys were sent out earlier this year, and the Board based its decision on responses received and customers' requests for this service. FGSUD truly has our customers' best interests at heart in this matter.
